The human eye is like a camera. Just like any electronic device, the human eye also focuses and takes in light to create images. Basically, light rays refracted by or by distant objects land on the retina after passing through different mediums such as the cornea, lens, aqueous humor, lens and vitreous.

However, the concept here is that light rays experience refraction as they pass through various media. Simply put, refraction is simply the change in direction of light rays as they pass between different media. Different indices of refraction bend light rays to create images. Rays are eventually received and focused on the retina. The retina contains photoreceptor cells called rods and cones that basically sense the intensity and frequency of light. The images obtained are then processed by millions of these cells, which send signals or nerve impulses to the brain via the optic nerve. The images that form are usually inverted, but the brain corrects for this phenomenon. This process is also similar to that of convex lenses.

Either way, now that we've learned about the human eye, each eye is extremely important and plays a special role in helping people see.

Why Humans have two Eyes?

Humans have two eyes, but the final image is one. Both eyes are used to collect information about the surroundings. Having two eyes has many benefits, but the main benefit is being able to see the world in three dimensions. You can see depth and distance depending on the position of your eyes. The distance between the eyes and the head is about 7.5cm. Both eyes perceive images of objects from different angles. This image is registered with the retina. The final two images of her are then sent to the brain for processing. Once the process is complete, you will get the cubic aspect, knowing the length, width and height of the object.

What is the purpose of having two eyes?

Close the right eye and record the visual field with the left eye only. Close your left eye and try the same. Now stop closing your eyes and enjoy the full field of view available to you because you have two eyes.

This is one of the main advantages of our binoculars. We have a double vision, so to speak. For an average pair of eyes, this binocular field of view is approximately 170 degrees.

Try another experiment. With both eyes open, it perceives the current ambient brightness. Then keep both eyes open and alternate. Does the brightness level change (and the field of view doesn't change much either)? If the eye function is correct, it probably isn't. What happens then? Their eyes can only see one eye at a time, but they see very quickly. so fast you won't even notice it. This process is also optimized for double vision. This compound vision greatly reduces the problem of parallax error in vision. It also improves depth perception, which is a huge evolutionary advantage. Our ability to detect faint objects is also clearer.

Thanks to our "two eyes", humans can enjoy stereoscopic vision. Stereopsis refers to the human eye's ability to see the environment through her three-dimensional view with two eyes. Animals with two eyes, such as rabbits and buffaloes, have a 360-degree field of view, but cannot see stereoscopically. An advantage only animals with two eyes on their foreheads like us humans have.

The human eye also offers aesthetic benefits. Symmetry is always considered more attractive than asymmetry. Two eyes meet this condition. Besides the above important advantages, there is another very important advantage of having two eyes. Even if someone dies, there is always a replacement!
